Mini The Face Shop Haul

Hey guys!

So I just came back from San Diego last Monday on the 8th of June. I found out there's a physical The Face Shop store there and I knew I just had to go there. It was also the only places I could think of to get my friends something as a sort of souvenir since Korean cosmetics isn't as accessible to us here in Seattle.

Starting off with the things I bought my friends. . . . . . .

 Black Sugar Scrub:
peeling exfoliator which lets you see your dead skin come off.

My friend wanted this because it's much more gentle on the skin as compared to exfoliators with beads. Plus she thinks it's really cool to see the dead skin come off. ^^

(I DO NOT OWN THIS PICTURE)
Calming Seed 1 second calming toner:
spray on toner which claims to calm sensitive skin

I bought this for my other friend because we're both taking antibiotics and a cream for our acne. So I thought since the cream might becoming irritating, I should get her skincare that's calming and lightweight.

The one and only thing I bought for myself:

Enamel Coating Tint:
Lip tint with a creamy consistency
Color: Enamel Orange

Now to the fun part! Samples!!!!

Olive Essential Cream:
Offers intense moisture and absorbs quickly while hydrating skin for hours.

Baby Leaf Green Tea Toner & Emulsion:
Moisturizes skin without the sticky feeling

Since in total I spent over $50 I got to pick a free gift!

Herb Day Lip & Eye Remover:
Makeup remover for sensitive skin

That's all I got from The Face Shop in San Diego. Currently loving the lip tint I bought for myself. I also loving going into Korean cosmetic shops because the look of the shop itself and the number of samples you can get! I'm pretty sure if I asked, the lady probably would've gave me more. After this, now I really want to go to Korea and shop for other cosmetics!

Hope you enjoyed this post!

Laneige BB Cushion Review!

Hey everyone!
I'm sorry I haven't posted anything since early April but now I'm back!
I don't know for how long but let's enjoy each other's company while I'm here.

Okay so last month I decided to buy the Laneige BB Cushion from my local Target.
Yes, TARGET SELLS LANEIGE!!!
So since I've had it for a little while now, I've decided it's time to write a review on it.

As always I'm not being paid to do this review.

I so ecstatic when I saw Laneige being sold at Target here in the US. I was so happy that I just had to tell my best friend about it. The day I saw the Laneige products at Target, I decided to buy something. No, it wasn't the BB Cushion just yet. The very first Laneige product I bought was the Water Bank Sleeping Pack. Then a couple weeks after, I decided to finally buy the BB Cushion. I've been using it ever since.

This is what comes inside the box:

It also comes with a Refill!

This BB cushion retail for $34 according to the Target website.

Target carries three shades; Light, Medium, and Dark. I got it in the shade medium.

BB Cushion is pretty much BB cream in a compact form while still being a liquid. How does this work? Inside there's 0.52 oz of product with a cushion holding it in place. To get the product out, simply take the special sponge applicator and push on the cushion.

I say special because the applicator isn't your normal every day makeup sponge you can buy at a drugstore. It's specially designed to not absorb as much product as a regular makeup sponge would. The applicator is very soft and easy to use. To apply the product, simply tap the applicator on the face and keep tapping and moving the applicator around until the product is fully blended.

Ratings:

  • Color: 4 out of 5
    • The color I got was Medium which is a bit too light for my skin but with a little bit of bronzer, it works well.
  • Packaging: 5 out of 5
    • The packaging is very light and sturdy. Very travel friendly. You could even pop out the cushion portion of the packaging if the compact as a whole seems too bulky for you to bring on your travels.
  • Concept: 3 out of 5
    • Although I love the packaging, it being light and travel friendly, the concept has it's cons. The huge pro about this concept is that you don't have to bring a tube of BB cream with you when you travel and this compact makes it very easy for someone to bring along in case they need to touch up their makeup. But the con to this is that it's kind of hard to tell how much product is left in the cushion.
  • Scent: 4 out of 5
    • This product does have a light scent to it that goes away after a while. But if you're one of those people who either don't like having scents in their face products or are sensitive to scents, I don't recommend this to you.
  • Texture and coverage: 4 out of 5
    • When applied to the skin, the product is very light weight. But once its on the skin, you have to let it set for a couple of minutes other wise it feels a little tacky. The coverage is fine for me since I don't have as much breakouts as much as I did before. It covers up redness and evens out my skin tone.
Overall I like this product a lot especially since I use it as part of my school makeup. It's very easy to use and the application doesn't take that long. Highly recommend to those who are always in a rush. I don't really recommend to those who have oily skin like I do because unless you have a good setting powder, you will look very oily at the end of the day. I forgot to switch foundations once before going to work and when I got off work at 9:30pm, I was so oily it was disgusting. But using it for school, which is only about three hours for me, it does very well on staying on my face.

I have also posted "A Look At: Laneige BB Cushion" video on my YouTube Channel. It shows how to apply this BB Cushion and how it looks on my skin.

Hope this was helpful! :)

Happy New Year! My (late) Online Winter Haul!

First, HAPPY NEW YEAR! 2013 IS GONE AND 2014 IS HERE!!!
(No resolution though...)

As I had said in my previous post, this post will be my Online Winter 2013 Haul. Yes, I know it's very late since I did say I was going to post it either before Christmas or before New Year, but yeah....

On to my Winter 2013 Haul!

First website I ordered from since the beginning of last year, Pretty and Cute! (prettyandcute.com)
I'm really into Korean makeup, skin care, music, and fashion. So this website is such a lifesaver to me since they're based in Oregon, I get my stuff in about three days with economy shipping. ;)
This time around, I wanted a new skin care regimen, so that's the category for this order!

To start off with, this is was my package looked like.

Gotta cover my address so no creepers come visit me...

Always with either just pink or pink and white packing peanuts.

The first thing I ordered was the Holika Holika: Soda Pore Cleansing BB Deep Cleansing Foam. So, it's a face wash. It smells like Ramune (soda) candy and has small blue beads. After using it, my skin feels so clean and it does tighten my skin, so if you don't like that effect, I don't recommend on you buying this product. It does foam up a bit but not as much as I would've liked it to. :(

Cost: $16
Claims:
Provides minerals
Reduces Itchiness
Reduces Redness
Cleanses
Moisturizes
Oil Control
Pore Control

Since I have oily acne prone skin, the next product I bought was the Skinfood Tea Tree Emulsion (for trouble skin). I've never had an emulsion before but I like how this product is. Although it is pretty watery in consistency, it absorbs into my skin pretty quickly. Even if I pour too much out, I can easily use the rest on my chest, neck, and shoulders.

Cost: $22
Claims:
Acne Care
Oil Control
Soothes
Anti-irritant
Anti-oxidant

My last skin care related item I ordered was the Lioele Pore Deep Clear Cleansing Brush. First thoughts on the brush; "Ahh, it's so soft!" and "Too bad there's no suction cup to stick it to my mirror." I love the packaging as with all Lioele products I have/will buy. Like I said, the brush hairs are soooooo soft! It's very easy to hold also. Note: This product is very popular and I had to wait awhile for it to be re-stocked. Also, as of right now, the date I posted this, it isn't listed on the site any more. I don't know why since it is a very VERY popular item.

Cost: $28
Claim:
Exfoliates
Deep Cleans
Removes Blackheads

the very last product I ordered off prettyandcute.com, as I said, isn't skin care related but makeup related. It's the Skinfood Soft Eyelash Curler. I had to replace my very first eyelash curler for several reasons. First important reason is that it's pretty old. Second reason is I had a stye and instead of taking the risk of spreading the bacteria, I decided to buy a new eyelash curler. I bought this one because I already do love Skinfood anyway and it was the cheapest (and brand-name) eyelash curler I came across. I still haven't tried it out yet since I heard curling your lashes frequently is bad for them.

Comes with replacement rubber thingy
(Sorry I don't know what it's called.)

Very nice and simple packaging
Cost: $6.99

My next online purchase was made on areyouaniceguy.com
Yes, I am a fan of the YouTube film makers, Wong Fu Productions.
(If you're a Nice Guy or Nice Girl, Raise your hands and be proud you're nice.)

The very first thing I've ever ordered from this site was their ever so cute, Awkward Panda. I love pandas, they're my favorite animals. I already have the keychain version and I just wanted a new panda to hold and cuddle with me while I sleep. (Don't judge me! please...)

Awkward Panda xL

As you can see from the caption underneath the picture, I bought the AWKWARD PANDA XL! He's sooo cute and FLUFFY soft! I still can't get over it. the cutest thing is that when I opened the box, he had his paw up like in the picture but he was laying down. So cute, right? Thanks Wongfu for doing that. :)

So, the next thing I had bought was Wongfu's Special Edition  DVD Collection. Yeah, I know I could always just watch their videos on YouTube. But hey, I want to support them any way I can. So I just had to but it! Plus it comes with two DVDs and an exclusive director's commentary and photo book. What fan can say no to that. Especially since a lot of their videos have such wonderful or inspiring messages behind them.

I kind of wished that they would've at least actually signed some of these DVDs since it's a special edition. But it does have printed versions of their autographs in the corner on the back of the packaging. The reason why it's split into two DVDs, is because one DVD has their drama short films and the other has their Comedy shorts and music videos they've made for artists like David Choi.

Well, that's all the stuff I ordered for myself during my winter break 2013. I may post what I got for Christmas depending on when I'll be able to post again since I'm now both a part time student and part time worker. If you guys want a review on any of the products mentioned in this post or in previous posts, don't be afraid to comment or message me and I will have that up soon! Hope you all had the happiest of Holidays and enjoy the new year. :)

Hope you guys liked this very lengthy post <3
