My Hair Growth Journey: Update2!

Finally! Here's an update on my hair growth journey.
If you didn't already know, I'm trying to grow my hair out because I miss having long hair.
The last time I updated was last year (2013) in March. Which means it's going to be almost a year since I last updated.

If you want to read my previous update you can read it here:

http://obesepanda.blogspot.com/2013/03/my-hair-growth-journey-update.html

I'm pretty much using the same products for my hair:

  • Nature Bounty "Hair, Skin, & Nails" Biotin supplements
  • Aussie 3 minute miracle deeeeep conditioner
  • Mane and Tail Shampoo and Conditioner
  • Garnier Fructis Color Treated Hair Shampoo and Conditioner
  • Herbal Essence Drama Clean Shampoo

I'm also taking daily vitamins and using the Organix 3 minute Keratin mask for breakage instead of the Aussie 3 minute miracle. As for when I dry my hair; I use Organix Brazilian Keratin Therapy spray, Tresemme Platinum strength heat spray, and Silk therapy Biosilk. I use those products to protect my hair from heat and to make it soft so that it doesn't feel so dead from dying it so much.

I'm only going to grow it out so that it reaches the bottom of my ribs. I'm planning to redye my hair back to just one color so that my ends don't look too dead. Of course since there isn't anything I can really do to fix my split ends, I am going to try to trim my hair once every month. Hopefully I'll put up another update some time in the summer or fall.

Hope this was helpful or something! :D

My Hair Growth Journey: Update

So its been about 5 months or so since I started my hair growth journey.
Basically all the products I use are the same as in my first hair growth post.
Except for the fact that I do not use Pantene ProV Restore Beautiful Lengths any more.

Why? Because I really did not like the way my hair felt after shampooing. It basically felt very unmovable until I applied my conditioner.

I also finished my Biotin supplement and replaced it with Nature Bounty Hair, Skin, Nails.
I am forgetful so I forget to take at least one a day....yeah...

Tastes really gross since there's no coating... :P

Today: March 2013

Keep in mind that my hair is not straightened or anything in the last picture.
I think the supplements are working. ;)
Soon I'm thinking of trying the shampoo that Shante Mac aka "luvableviet" on youtube uses.
Hopefully that shampoo also helps.

Hope this helped or something! :D

Palty Foam: Marshmallow Ash Review!

I decided to write a review on Palty Marshmallow Ash since there weren't some that I found all that much use full. :(

A couple days ago, I decided to once again dye my hair. But this time I decided that I wanted darker hair for the fall/winter and have lighter hair for spring/summer.
With that in mind, I decided it was a great opportunity to try the Palty dye I had bought a month ago.
For awhile now, I've been wanting to try the Marshmallow Ash color in Palty foam dye.
Why? The name is cute and I loved the color the model had. from past experiences, I know my hair won't come out like the model's.

Anyway.... Let's get started with this review!
*All pictures are taken with sunlight as light source*

Before:
Ew.... I forgot to edit this pic... >.<

Roots are showing! >.<"

Result Chart:
Can't really tell but I wanted the middle color since that's the color my hair is.
It's the closest to the model's hair.
Sorry for blurry pic but you can always Google a better pic. ;)

Took about 20 minutes to mix and apply the dye.
Since I have fine to damaged hair, I only waited 15 minutes.
For the first time, I did not blow dry my hair before washing out the dye.

Results:
Creeper..... O.O"

A little bit of the ashy tone...

Roots are less noticeable

Way darker than I expected

Ratings (out of 5):

Color: 2 out of 5
The result was way darker than I expected. It looks black in low lighting. There is little to no ash tone.
The instructions do say that if you leave the dye in longer than 20 minutes, it will come out black.

Softness: 5 out of 5
My hair is as soft as usual after washing out the dye and apply the conditioner.

Smell: 3 out of 5
The smell of the dye itself spelled really fruity unless you put your nose right near it. The strong smell of the dye lasted in my hair for about a day or so because I didn't smell it the next day but my friend did.

Conditioner: 5 out of 5
The conditioner helps a lot with softening your hair. It also smells really good too. I wish they sold bottles of it. :3

Would I repurchase this color? Honestly, no. If I ever want to go dark again, I want to try Cinnamon Churros, Chocolate Waffle, Dark Ganache, Macaroon Brown, or Caramel Sauce. (So many! ^^)

Recommend to a friend? No.

When I go lighter I obviously have to bleach my hair first.
But the colors I'm willing to try are: Macaroon Beige, Fresh Caramel Latte, Sakura Creamy, Creamy Caramel, or Milk Tea Brown. (Even more... O.O)

Oh, if any of you were wondering, the color I have in my profile pic is Palty Nama Caramel Latte. I kinda miss that color.... :(

My Hair Growth Journey :)

So for awhile now, I've wanted to grow out my hair. Before, my hair used to grow super fast when I was in middle school. My hair used to be at the end of my back. But now it's only shoulder length.
Two major reasons why were:
-I miss my long hair! Dx
-I want that hairstyle but I can't since my hair is too short.... :(

The hairstyles that I'm trying to grow my hair out for are:

Nicole from KARA

Asian Mullet

I also wanted to dye my hair to look like this:

Front

Back

My Hair usually grows out and stops at this length:

So, to achieve my desired hair length, I've searched and searched for tips to grow out hair.
Most people have tried F.A.S.T shampoo and conditioner but I don't have the funds to invest on shampoo that I have to order off the internet. There were a bunch of tips. I compiled all the tips and took out the ones I was already doing for my hair (ex. not brushing when wet, not tying hair, use less styling tools) and made my own hair growth regimen.

First, as of yesterday, I'm taking Biotin which is a vitamin that supports healthy hair, skin and nails. ;)

Next, I use a hair mask by Neutrogena which is a triple moisture mask (that I especially need since I dyed my hair three times in one week.

*I did get a hair cut after dying my hair three times.

Third, I bought Pantene Pro V Restore Beautiful Lengths. I've been wanting to give this a try.
I do want to try the other products from the same line as well.

I have also changed other things I take into my body.
I drink more water now, massage my scalp, eat fruits such as; apples, blueberries, and bananas.
I've also started to drink more soy milk and eat more healthy protein. I think that's it so far. I will check back with another hair growth journey post and show you guys my progress.

Comment below and tell me what you do to grow out your hair and the results. :)
Tell me anything I can improve on my blog.
Suggest any video ideas I can use for my YouTube channel.
Share my blog with anyone who is also trying to grow out their hair.

I wish you all luck on your hair growth!

Liese Bubble Hair Color Review!

Finally! I got to try Liese Bubble Hair Color! I watched videos and read reviews on the product and I got excited every time. ^^

The color I got was Platinum Beige.
I really wanted ash brown hair but I also wanted lighter hair.
Bought this off Amazon from Pink Gelee. They are very friendly and my shopping experience was fantastic. I can't wait to purchase something from them again.

Before:
Sorry, I don't have a better pic of my hair before dying it. :(

Liese Bubble Hair Color in Platinum Beige:

Waited about 30 min.
Gave the rest to my mom for her to use.

After Blow Drying.

Results (out of 5):

Color: 4 out of 5
Although my hair was pretty dark to begin with, the color came out really good. My hair was visibly red before dying it, but now the redness is gone. I thought it would take out all the red in my hair, but it made it copper in the sunlight which is something I don't really mind but something that changed my opinion on the hair dye.

Softness: 5 out of 5
My hair was very soft after dying my hair, especially after using the leave-in conditioner.

Smell: 4 out 5
The smell didn't bother me at first. But when I started to dispense the foam, the smell started to become strong. Even my parents, who were also in the room while I was dying my hair, said the hair dye didn't smell good and it had a strong smell.

Conditioner: 3 out of 5
I loved how the conditioner made my hair very soft after applying it, but I think it would've been better if it was a regular conditioner that you wash out. My reason is because when you accidentally put too much in one spot it's very difficult to spread it around. Plus after while, my hair felt oily and unmovable. The oily feeling was just very unappealing and disgusting to me.

  • My hair was uneven before using Liese
  • The color of my hair was medium brown with a little bit of red
  • Started dying my hair in February
  • dyes that I've used before this whole year in order:
    • Light Auburn with 40 developer from Sally's Beauty Supply
    • Palty Fresh Caramel Latte
    • Palty Bubble Hair dye Raspberry Jam
    • Beigen Natural Black (Big Mistake)
    • Palty Bubble Hair dye Creamy Caramel
