My Hair Growth Journey: Update

So its been about 5 months or so since I started my hair growth journey.
Basically all the products I use are the same as in my first hair growth post.
Except for the fact that I do not use Pantene ProV Restore Beautiful Lengths any more.

Why? Because I really did not like the way my hair felt after shampooing. It basically felt very unmovable until I applied my conditioner.

I also finished my Biotin supplement and replaced it with Nature Bounty Hair, Skin, Nails.
I am forgetful so I forget to take at least one a day....yeah...

Tastes really gross since there's no coating... :P

December 2012

Today: March 2013

Keep in mind that my hair is not straightened or anything in the last picture.
I think the supplements are working. ;)
Soon I'm thinking of trying the shampoo that Shante Mac aka "luvableviet" on youtube uses.
Hopefully that shampoo also helps.

Hope this helped or something! :D

I Dyed my Hair Teal!

I always wanted to try to dye my hair some crazy out-there color.
What color? Teal.
So, after bleaching my hair I decided I will try dying my hair teal.
The dye was by the brand Ion and I bought it at Sally Beauty Supply.

Showing how much my hair has grown

The under layer of my bangs is now Teal.

It's more green...

My camera: Nikon 1 J1 in White

Technically, I didn't follow the directions the dye came with.
So, my result came out more green than teal.
But after re-dying it, the color became more teal.
The smell reminded me kind of like fruit by the foot. hahaha ^^

Warning: the dye did stain my pillow and the color did fade after awhile. of course... -.-"
I did end up dying over it with Liese Antique Rose. It worked...

Sorry it took so long to post something

Palty Mecha Flash Bleach Sparkling Blonde Review!

Okay, so I dyed my hair again.... or actually bleached.
For the record, this is my first time bleaching my hair.
This review is going to be pretty brief since I didn't bleach all of my hair.
So, I bleached my hair because I wanted to have teal in the parts that I bleached.
But then, I decided to wait until I don't have school so that it would be easier to maintain.

Box Contents:
I do not own this picture.

Results:
I do not own this picture.

My results:
After blow drying.

Now:
Four days after.

As you can probably see, I bleached the under layer of both my hair and bangs.
It kind of reminds me of  peanut butter and chocolate (blonde-ish and brown). :3
I think I'll keep it like this for awhile.

Ratings (out of 5):

Color: 5 out of 5
My hair came out the color it was supposed to for the amount of time I left it in. I didn't want to go straight up blonde.

Softness: 5 out of 5
My hair is still as soft as it was before I bleached it. In fact, it was even soft after I rinsed out the bleach and before I even used the conditioner.

Smell: 2 out of 5
Well, it is bleach so it's not going to smell good. But the scent was so harsh that it was hurting my eyes while my hair was processing.

Experience: 4 out of 5
I bleached my hair all by myself and it turned out okay. I mean, a part of my neck did "burn" or whatever before I put my hair in foil. After rinsing the bleach out, my scalp kind of itched but it went away after the second rinse.

Would I repurchase this color? Yes, but only when I want to put the teal in my hair or if I ever want to do ombre.

Some Advice:
  • If you're only bleaching some parts of your hair like I did, put the hair in foil while it processes.
  • Have someone help you if it is your first time bleaching your hair at home, I was just lucky

Good luck in bleaching your hair!

Palty Foam: Marshmallow Ash Review!

I decided to write a review on Palty Marshmallow Ash since there weren't some that I found all that much use full. :(

A couple days ago, I decided to once again dye my hair. But this time I decided that I wanted darker hair for the fall/winter and have lighter hair for spring/summer.
With that in mind, I decided it was a great opportunity to try the Palty dye I had bought a month ago.
For awhile now, I've been wanting to try the Marshmallow Ash color in Palty foam dye.
Why? The name is cute and I loved the color the model had. from past experiences, I know my hair won't come out like the model's.

Anyway.... Let's get started with this review!
*All pictures are taken with sunlight as light source*

Before:
Ew.... I forgot to edit this pic... >.<

Side view

Roots are showing! >.<"

Box:

Result Chart:
Can't really tell but I wanted the middle color since that's the color my hair is.
It's the closest to the model's hair.
Sorry for blurry pic but you can always Google a better pic. ;)

Took about 20 minutes to mix and apply the dye.
Since I have fine to damaged hair, I only waited 15 minutes.
For the first time, I did not blow dry my hair before washing out the dye.

Results:
Creeper..... O.O"

A little bit of the ashy tone...

Roots are less noticeable

Way darker than I expected

Ratings (out of 5):

Color: 2 out of 5
The result was way darker than I expected. It looks black in low lighting. There is little to no ash tone.
The instructions do say that if you leave the dye in longer than 20 minutes, it will come out black.

Softness: 5 out of 5
My hair is as soft as usual after washing out the dye and apply the conditioner.

Smell: 3 out of 5
The smell of the dye itself spelled really fruity unless you put your nose right near it. The strong smell of the dye lasted in my hair for about a day or so because I didn't smell it the next day but my friend did.

Conditioner: 5 out of 5
The conditioner helps a lot with softening your hair. It also smells really good too. I wish they sold bottles of it. :3

Would I repurchase this color? Honestly, no. If I ever want to go dark again, I want to try Cinnamon Churros, Chocolate Waffle, Dark Ganache, Macaroon Brown, or Caramel Sauce. (So many! ^^)

Recommend to a friend? No.

When I go lighter I obviously have to bleach my hair first.
But the colors I'm willing to try are: Macaroon Beige, Fresh Caramel Latte, Sakura Creamy, Creamy Caramel, or Milk Tea Brown. (Even more... O.O)

Oh, if any of you were wondering, the color I have in my profile pic is Palty Nama Caramel Latte. I kinda miss that color.... :(

My Hair Growth Journey :)

So for awhile now, I've wanted to grow out my hair. Before, my hair used to grow super fast when I was in middle school. My hair used to be at the end of my back. But now it's only shoulder length.
Two major reasons why were:
-I miss my long hair! Dx
-I want that hairstyle but I can't since my hair is too short.... :(

The hairstyles that I'm trying to grow my hair out for are:

Nicole from KARA

Asian Mullet

I also wanted to dye my hair to look like this:

Front

Back

My Hair usually grows out and stops at this length:

So, to achieve my desired hair length, I've searched and searched for tips to grow out hair.
Most people have tried F.A.S.T shampoo and conditioner but I don't have the funds to invest on shampoo that I have to order off the internet. There were a bunch of tips. I compiled all the tips and took out the ones I was already doing for my hair (ex. not brushing when wet, not tying hair, use less styling tools) and made my own hair growth regimen.

First, as of yesterday, I'm taking Biotin which is a vitamin that supports healthy hair, skin and nails. ;)

Next, I use a hair mask by Neutrogena which is a triple moisture mask (that I especially need since I dyed my hair three times in one week.

*I did get a hair cut after dying my hair three times.

Third, I bought Pantene Pro V Restore Beautiful Lengths. I've been wanting to give this a try.
I do want to try the other products from the same line as well.

I have also changed other things I take into my body.
I drink more water now, massage my scalp, eat fruits such as; apples, blueberries, and bananas.
I've also started to drink more soy milk and eat more healthy protein. I think that's it so far. I will check back with another hair growth journey post and show you guys my progress.

Comment below and tell me what you do to grow out your hair and the results. :)
Tell me anything I can improve on my blog.
Suggest any video ideas I can use for my YouTube channel.
Share my blog with anyone who is also trying to grow out their hair.

I wish you all luck on your hair growth!

My Beauty Diary Masks!

For awhile now, My Beauty Diary has produced a line of facial masks.
This type of facial mask is a cloth soaked in serum that's has natural ingredients or components to them.
All the masks do different things for different skin types.
What sucks is that most of them are only for Normal to Dry Skin so when ever I purchase some, I always have to get the ones that are for all skin types. *I have Oily to Combination (with oily T zone) skin.*

How to Use (Or basically how I use it):
Step 1-Do normal facial routine
Step 2-Put on mask (cut to better fit your face)
Step 3-Leave mask on for 15-25 min.
Step 4-Remove mask and use it to add more serum to your face.
Step 5-Throw mask away and put any extra serum from packet onto face or body.
Step 6-Use clean fingers to massage and rub serum into face.
*Do not rinse*

The ones I've tried so far have not broken me out or caused any kind of skin irritation.

The first that I've tried was the Arbutin Whitening Mask.
This mask contains arbutin that helps whiten the skin by breaking down the melanin in the skin.
Arbutin also helps with anti-aging.
I bought mine for $1.75 for 1pk. at Uwajimaya because when I first bought it, they weren't selling the whole box. But now they are for $16. Yup, it's a bit pricey but I don't mind since the only other way to purchase it is by buying it online.

Ratings:

Moisturizing: 5 out of 5
All of the different masks do moisturize.

Anti-Aging: Can't really rate since I have no kind of wrinkles to begin with.

Whitening: 5 out of 5
After using it for 2 days in one week, I noticed a drastic change in the tone of my skin. Originally, my forehead, nose, and chin are all a couple shades darker than the rest of my face. After using the mask, they've lightened up. Best whitening product I've ever used! :)

Scent: There is no scent.

The next My Beauty Diary mask I've tried is the Strawberry Yogurt mask.
I only used one since my best friend bought for herself from Taiwan and I just wanted to try it.
This mask claims to whiten, refine, and control excess sebum.

Ratings:

Moisturizing: 5 out of 5

Whitening: 3 out of 5
Saw some improvement but it wasn't as drastic as the Arbutin Mask.

Refine: 5 out of 5
My face a lot cleaner and smoother after using mask.

Control of Sebum: 4 out of 5
I had less oil on my face when I woke up the next morning but throughout the day, my face started to get oily again.

Scent: 5 out of 5
It smells delicious, it made me want strawberry yogurt. :3

The last one I tried was the Sake Yeast Mask.
I bought this one at Uwajimaya as well for $16.
Before I bought this I wanted to see what mask does everything that I want to improve my face.
This mask is recommended to those with Oily skin (even though it doesn't directly say that.)
This mask claims to clarifying, anti-aging, moisturizing, regenerating, softening, collagen, whitening.
It also controls excess sebum.

Ratings:

Clarifying: 4 out of 5
After using it, my pimples did become smaller. Maybe with more use of it, they will fully disappear.

Anti-aging: Can't rate.

Moisturizing: 5 out of 5

Regenerating: 5 out 5

Soften: 5 out of 5
My skin became very soft after use and the next day.

Whitening: 4 out of 5
Again, not as drastic as the Arbutin but still a small change in skin tone.

Control of Sebum: 5 out of 5
My face was not only when I woke up the next morning and throughout the day it remained that way. :)

Scent: 4 out of 5
The scent of this mask smells just like sake and it's a pretty strong scent. But I could ignore the scent after awhile. Honestly, I didn't really have any problem with the smell. It didn't irritate my skin at all.

In conclusion, after my experiences with these masks I am looking forward to trying the rest of them. After I have tried some new ones, I will post reviews on them. I'm also thinking of making a video review about these masks as well.
I would buy any of these masks again. :)
I highly recommend you guys try these masks for yourselves.
If you or any one you know have tried any of these masks, feel free to comment and tell me which ones you tried and how it went for you.
