Laneige BB Cushion Review!

Hey everyone!
I'm sorry I haven't posted anything since early April but now I'm back!
I don't know for how long but let's enjoy each other's company while I'm here.

Okay so last month I decided to buy the Laneige BB Cushion from my local Target.
Yes, TARGET SELLS LANEIGE!!!
So since I've had it for a little while now, I've decided it's time to write a review on it.

As always I'm not being paid to do this review.

I so ecstatic when I saw Laneige being sold at Target here in the US. I was so happy that I just had to tell my best friend about it. The day I saw the Laneige products at Target, I decided to buy something. No, it wasn't the BB Cushion just yet. The very first Laneige product I bought was the Water Bank Sleeping Pack. Then a couple weeks after, I decided to finally buy the BB Cushion. I've been using it ever since.

This is what comes inside the box:

It also comes with a Refill!

This BB cushion retail for $34 according to the Target website.

Target carries three shades; Light, Medium, and Dark. I got it in the shade medium.

BB Cushion is pretty much BB cream in a compact form while still being a liquid. How does this work? Inside there's 0.52 oz of product with a cushion holding it in place. To get the product out, simply take the special sponge applicator and push on the cushion.

I say special because the applicator isn't your normal every day makeup sponge you can buy at a drugstore. It's specially designed to not absorb as much product as a regular makeup sponge would. The applicator is very soft and easy to use. To apply the product, simply tap the applicator on the face and keep tapping and moving the applicator around until the product is fully blended.

Ratings:

  • Color: 4 out of 5
    • The color I got was Medium which is a bit too light for my skin but with a little bit of bronzer, it works well.
  • Packaging: 5 out of 5
    • The packaging is very light and sturdy. Very travel friendly. You could even pop out the cushion portion of the packaging if the compact as a whole seems too bulky for you to bring on your travels.
  • Concept: 3 out of 5
    • Although I love the packaging, it being light and travel friendly, the concept has it's cons. The huge pro about this concept is that you don't have to bring a tube of BB cream with you when you travel and this compact makes it very easy for someone to bring along in case they need to touch up their makeup. But the con to this is that it's kind of hard to tell how much product is left in the cushion.
  • Scent: 4 out of 5
    • This product does have a light scent to it that goes away after a while. But if you're one of those people who either don't like having scents in their face products or are sensitive to scents, I don't recommend this to you.
  • Texture and coverage: 4 out of 5
    • When applied to the skin, the product is very light weight. But once its on the skin, you have to let it set for a couple of minutes other wise it feels a little tacky. The coverage is fine for me since I don't have as much breakouts as much as I did before. It covers up redness and evens out my skin tone.
Overall I like this product a lot especially since I use it as part of my school makeup. It's very easy to use and the application doesn't take that long. Highly recommend to those who are always in a rush. I don't really recommend to those who have oily skin like I do because unless you have a good setting powder, you will look very oily at the end of the day. I forgot to switch foundations once before going to work and when I got off work at 9:30pm, I was so oily it was disgusting. But using it for school, which is only about three hours for me, it does very well on staying on my face.

I have also posted "A Look At: Laneige BB Cushion" video on my YouTube Channel. It shows how to apply this BB Cushion and how it looks on my skin.

Hope this was helpful! :)

Late Upload...

Hello!
So, as you can probably see. My new video for my YouTube channel isn't up yet.
The only explanation for this is that I had trouble editing the video.
I thought I was almost done but it turned out that I was using the wrong video files.

Haha, my bad. Sorry about it.

I will hopefully get the editing done by the time I go to sleep tonight and have it up right after.
I can't put it off until tomorrow since I will be working and I don't want the video to be any later than it already is. So I'm sorry if you guys were expecting a new video.

Also, if you guys have any tips on how I can improve on YouTube or even on here, don't be afraid to tell me. I'll gladly take your comments and tips.

Thank you for your patience!

Follow me on Instagram and Update!

Hello everyone!

First of all,
Interested in seeing what I've been up to but in picture form?
Or just want to pass time?
Do you like food, art, or some other random things?

Well, I've recently decided to open up an Instagram account!
I've had it for a couple days now but didn't upload any pictures until today.

Follow me on Instagram:
obese_panda

My pictures on there won't always be "instant" as most people's are.
The reason being is that I don't own an android or apple phone. So, I don't have Instagram on my phone. So, instead I have it on my ipad but I don't always carry it around with me.
Please bare with me until I'm able to upgrade to a new phone which may be in either April or August.

Now for an update!

I'm going to try to have something new posted on here either every friday or every other friday.
As for my YouTube, I don't know when I'm going to start regularly posting since I'm still new to it and don't really know what to post. But if you guys have any suggestions, don't be afraid and tell me.
I'll be glad to make a video and hopefully upload it as soon as possible.
Just please keep in mind that I am a full time student and part-time worker.

Talk to you guys in my next post!

EOS Ice Grey Lens Review!

Hi guys!
I'm finally back with another circle lens review.
First off, I bought the EOS Ice Grey lens from Maplelens.com.

Well, on with the review!

Brand: EOS
Color: Grey
Diameter: 14.8mm
Water Content: 38%
Price on Maplelens: $18.90

Like always, I'm not being paid to do this review.

The day I ordered these lens from Maplelens.com, they had a special discount code for their anniversary. By entering that code I got 10% or 20% off. Of course whenever I order from Maplelens, I always choose expiated shipping. That's another $10, so the discount helped me save a bit of money.
The reason why I chose these lenses was because I've wanted these ever since I saw a video on YouTube by luvableviet (Shantea Mac) and they looked so pretty on her.

Picture Time!

Lens in the case
This time I got the yellow hippo. Sorry I forgot to take a picture of it. :(

Ratings:
  • Color: 9/10
    • I didn't give these lens a 10 because although I do like natural lens more, I still wanted the grey to show a little more. From far away under normal indoor lighting the lens look almost black. The color also blends with my natural color so they are still natural so I recommend them if you want natural lens.
  • Comfort: 10/10
    • As expected from EOS lens, these are so comfortable. When I wear them I can barely feel them in my eyes and you don't see the rim like the Geo Angel Blue lens that I had. They're very thin so I guess thats why I can barely feel them.
  • Enlargement: 10/10
    • For me, like I said I like natural lens so I don't mind if my circle lens don't enlarge my eyes too much. These are 14.8 in diameter so if you've tried the EOS Candy series, they're the exact same size. They do still enlarge your eyes enough that wearing them without makeup on look kind of funny. But they not too big so you can pass off with just wearing a bit of eyeliner and mascara.

These are my honest opinions about the lens. So the bottom line is, I think EOS is my favorite brand for circle lens instead of Geo. But Geo is still my second favorite. I'm very happy with my purchase and I don't regret buying these lens at all.
One last thing, I'm also going to post an "unboxing" video for these lens and a video to show how they look in my eyes on YouTube. Yes, I'm finally going to post something on my 2 year old YouTube channel. Hope this post was helpful to you in any way.

A Piece of Advice

Hello!
So, this is my second installment of "A Piece of Advice". It's been awhile, hasn't it?
Well, for this advice it's going to be about knowing when you're ready to move on. :)

So, you just got out of a relationship, right? Now you're trying to find someone new.
Just make sure you're ready. I mean, REALLY ready.
Don't go and think you're ready only to see your ex later on at the mall and have old feelings come up.
That will only ruin your chances of being with this new guy that you found.
It will make you question whether this new guy is going to actually do what he says and make you happy.

Just telling you guys now, this isn't my own experience. It's my nephew's. He's as old as I am so I just call him my cousin. Whatever. Anyway, he pretty much got set up with this girl who is 3 years older than we are which would make her 23. Since he has never been in a serious relationship or anything close for that matter, me and my niece tried to coach him through everything. His end result being that the girl ended up seeing her ex and confessing to my "cousin" saying that she may still have feelings for him. Her ex cheated on her. Now, I have no idea what her definition of cheating is or what their history is but yeah.... if that were me, I would've looked the other way and continue on my way. What really made me mad was that she told my "cousin" to give her 2 reasons why she should give him a chance. (Like what the f@&#?! That's something you say to your ex not someone who like you.)

Long story short, my "cousin" broke it off with the girl pretty much saying that he isn't going to waste his time with someone who can't make up their mind. (Good for you, bro.) This girl even tried to make him feel bad by sending him a text about how she feels. (Okay, that's a good thing, right?) No, she text-ed him what sounded like a poem you can find online.

B!t$^, if you're trying to send something deep and meaningful, at least put it into your own words.

My piece of advice for all you girls out there, make sure that you are ready to move on and that no old feelings will come up when you suddenly see your ex. Before you decide you're ready to move on, think about why you guys broke up in the first place and why you want someone else to be your boyfriend. If you want, you can also just become friends with your ex or even enemies. Don't string someone along saying that you love them or whatever only to tell them to give you reasons why you should give them a chance!

Know that: "Give me 2 reasons why I should give you a chance," is a line you say to your ex when they're trying to beg for your forgiveness. Never and I mean NEVER say that to your potential boyfriend. Or else you just lost your chance to finding happiness and discovering something with someone new.

Sorry I didn't write the whole story, it's just kind of confusing and LONG. So bare with me and take my word for it. Yeah, this turned out to be more of a rant than a post that's supposed to give advice. Also I'm sorry about the overflow of words with a lack of pictures. (I'll do better next time.)

Hope this helped or entertained you in some way.

My Hair Growth Journey: Update2!

Finally! Here's an update on my hair growth journey.
If you didn't already know, I'm trying to grow my hair out because I miss having long hair.
The last time I updated was last year (2013) in March. Which means it's going to be almost a year since I last updated.

If you want to read my previous update you can read it here:

http://obesepanda.blogspot.com/2013/03/my-hair-growth-journey-update.html

I'm pretty much using the same products for my hair:

  • Nature Bounty "Hair, Skin, & Nails" Biotin supplements
  • Aussie 3 minute miracle deeeeep conditioner
  • Mane and Tail Shampoo and Conditioner
  • Garnier Fructis Color Treated Hair Shampoo and Conditioner
  • Herbal Essence Drama Clean Shampoo

I'm also taking daily vitamins and using the Organix 3 minute Keratin mask for breakage instead of the Aussie 3 minute miracle. As for when I dry my hair; I use Organix Brazilian Keratin Therapy spray, Tresemme Platinum strength heat spray, and Silk therapy Biosilk. I use those products to protect my hair from heat and to make it soft so that it doesn't feel so dead from dying it so much.

Now (January 2014):

I'm only going to grow it out so that it reaches the bottom of my ribs. I'm planning to redye my hair back to just one color so that my ends don't look too dead. Of course since there isn't anything I can really do to fix my split ends, I am going to try to trim my hair once every month. Hopefully I'll put up another update some time in the summer or fall.

Hope this was helpful or something! :D

Happy New Year! My (late) Online Winter Haul!

First, HAPPY NEW YEAR! 2013 IS GONE AND 2014 IS HERE!!!
(No resolution though...)

As I had said in my previous post, this post will be my Online Winter 2013 Haul. Yes, I know it's very late since I did say I was going to post it either before Christmas or before New Year, but yeah....

On to my Winter 2013 Haul!

First website I ordered from since the beginning of last year, Pretty and Cute! (prettyandcute.com)
I'm really into Korean makeup, skin care, music, and fashion. So this website is such a lifesaver to me since they're based in Oregon, I get my stuff in about three days with economy shipping. ;)
This time around, I wanted a new skin care regimen, so that's the category for this order!

To start off with, this is was my package looked like.

Gotta cover my address so no creepers come visit me...

Always with either just pink or pink and white packing peanuts.

The first thing I ordered was the Holika Holika: Soda Pore Cleansing BB Deep Cleansing Foam. So, it's a face wash. It smells like Ramune (soda) candy and has small blue beads. After using it, my skin feels so clean and it does tighten my skin, so if you don't like that effect, I don't recommend on you buying this product. It does foam up a bit but not as much as I would've liked it to. :(

Cost: $16
Claims:
Provides minerals
Reduces Itchiness
Reduces Redness
Cleanses
Moisturizes
Oil Control
Pore Control

Since I have oily acne prone skin, the next product I bought was the Skinfood Tea Tree Emulsion (for trouble skin). I've never had an emulsion before but I like how this product is. Although it is pretty watery in consistency, it absorbs into my skin pretty quickly. Even if I pour too much out, I can easily use the rest on my chest, neck, and shoulders.

Cost: $22
Claims:
Acne Care
Oil Control
Soothes
Anti-irritant
Anti-oxidant

My last skin care related item I ordered was the Lioele Pore Deep Clear Cleansing Brush. First thoughts on the brush; "Ahh, it's so soft!" and "Too bad there's no suction cup to stick it to my mirror." I love the packaging as with all Lioele products I have/will buy. Like I said, the brush hairs are soooooo soft! It's very easy to hold also. Note: This product is very popular and I had to wait awhile for it to be re-stocked. Also, as of right now, the date I posted this, it isn't listed on the site any more. I don't know why since it is a very VERY popular item.

Cost: $28
Claim:
Exfoliates
Deep Cleans
Removes Blackheads

the very last product I ordered off prettyandcute.com, as I said, isn't skin care related but makeup related. It's the Skinfood Soft Eyelash Curler. I had to replace my very first eyelash curler for several reasons. First important reason is that it's pretty old. Second reason is I had a stye and instead of taking the risk of spreading the bacteria, I decided to buy a new eyelash curler. I bought this one because I already do love Skinfood anyway and it was the cheapest (and brand-name) eyelash curler I came across. I still haven't tried it out yet since I heard curling your lashes frequently is bad for them.

Comes with replacement rubber thingy
(Sorry I don't know what it's called.)

Very nice and simple packaging
Cost: $6.99

My next online purchase was made on areyouaniceguy.com
Yes, I am a fan of the YouTube film makers, Wong Fu Productions.
(If you're a Nice Guy or Nice Girl, Raise your hands and be proud you're nice.)

The very first thing I've ever ordered from this site was their ever so cute, Awkward Panda. I love pandas, they're my favorite animals. I already have the keychain version and I just wanted a new panda to hold and cuddle with me while I sleep. (Don't judge me! please...)

Awkward Panda xL

As you can see from the caption underneath the picture, I bought the AWKWARD PANDA XL! He's sooo cute and FLUFFY soft! I still can't get over it. the cutest thing is that when I opened the box, he had his paw up like in the picture but he was laying down. So cute, right? Thanks Wongfu for doing that. :)

So, the next thing I had bought was Wongfu's Special Edition  DVD Collection. Yeah, I know I could always just watch their videos on YouTube. But hey, I want to support them any way I can. So I just had to but it! Plus it comes with two DVDs and an exclusive director's commentary and photo book. What fan can say no to that. Especially since a lot of their videos have such wonderful or inspiring messages behind them.

I kind of wished that they would've at least actually signed some of these DVDs since it's a special edition. But it does have printed versions of their autographs in the corner on the back of the packaging. The reason why it's split into two DVDs, is because one DVD has their drama short films and the other has their Comedy shorts and music videos they've made for artists like David Choi.

Well, that's all the stuff I ordered for myself during my winter break 2013. I may post what I got for Christmas depending on when I'll be able to post again since I'm now both a part time student and part time worker. If you guys want a review on any of the products mentioned in this post or in previous posts, don't be afraid to comment or message me and I will have that up soon! Hope you all had the happiest of Holidays and enjoy the new year. :)

Hope you guys liked this very lengthy post <3
